MLB names 2024 All-Star Ambassadors: Adrian Beltré, Iván “Pudge” Rodríguez & Michael Young

Fans Have Opportunities to See Ambassadors at Capital One All-Star Village, Among Other Events

Major League Baseball and the Texas Rangers today announced that three all-time Rangers greats will serve as 2024 All-Star Ambassadors: Adrian Beltré, Iván “Pudge” Rodríguez and Michael Young. These three Texas baseball legends, who each had their respective number retired by the team and are in the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame, will promote various events taking place during MLB All-Star Week to welcome visitors from around the world to North Texas from July 10-16. Fans will have multiple opportunities to see Beltré, Rodríguez and Young at unique All-Star events, including Capital One All-Star Village and All-Star Saturday. For tickets, visit AllStarGame.com.

Leading off Saturday, July 13, Rodríguez and Young will open MLB’s marquee fan festival, All-Star Village, with local youth ballplayers and dignitaries. After the opening ceremony, which will take place in the Capital One PLAY BALL PARK section of All-Star Village inside Choctaw Stadium, youth players from The Miracle League will play a game on the same grounds where the Rangers used to play. The Miracle League provides children and young adults the opportunity to play baseball regardless of their abilities. The Miracle League removes the barriers that keep children with mental and physical disabilities off the field and allows them to experience playing as part of a team.

Beltré, the four-time All-Star and 2024 Hall of Fame electee, will join Young, the 2005 AL Batting Champion and seven-time All-Star, as managers for the 25th edition of the Futures Game on All-Star Saturday at Globe Life Field. Beltré, who joined the Rangers ahead of their AL-pennant winning 2011 season, will lead the AL Futures squad while Young, who helped lead the club to consecutive AL pennants in 2010 and 2011, will be at the helm for the NL Futures team.

On Sunday, July 14 at All-Star Village, Rodríguez and Beltré will participate in an exclusive panel discussion with fellow retired Latino baseball star Benji Gil. Rodríguez, a 14-time MLB All-Star who spent 13 of his 21 MLB seasons with the Rangers, became only the fourth Puerto Rican player to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame after he was elected in 2017.

Between July 12-15, Rodríguez and Young will also make appearances on behalf of Capital One, the Official Bank of MLB, at cardholder events in All-Star Village and a local Capital One Café. Additionally, Rodríguez is scheduled to make a number of appearances on behalf of Mastercard, the Preferred Payment Partner of MLB, where he’ll engage with exclusive groups of Mastercard cardholders. Fans can also expect to see Beltré, Rodríguez and Young at additional events throughout MLB All-Star Week in North Texas.
